My wife and i played the console version, i played demo and tested it and she did not play demo and he saved me and she got a game over. no if you didnt play the demo you didnt get him till the update that happened for chapter 13 on console, thats when they gave it to everyone. I have yet to test this tho.Ĭarbuncle also is disabled in certain areas/fights, so you have to do without his help in those cases. I always thought I didn't have him, but I'm told the trick is to be in Easy mode (which I knew), but then you have to have Noct die AND let the Phoenix Down timer run out. I think demo was for being able to name him, not to have him. Not sure about the Windows Edition or Royal Edition.Īlso Carbuncle ONLY shows up in Easy Mode. Upon beating that demo you unlock Carbuncle for the main game. I guess there's unlimited Justice Monsters Five, fishing, and roadtripping in the demo area, so there's that.Originally posted by NecroAether:In the console version the ONLY way to get him as a summon was by playing the demo where Noctis was a kid. Note that the demo save does not transfer to the main game, so you'll basically be starting over in the retail game. * Certain mobs and other things are missing from the demo area that have relevance in the main game. * The characters either cap at level 10 or the experience pretty much slows to a crawl at that point. * The overworld skills (fishing, cooking, ect) cap at level 3. * Only a small amount of the ascension board (what you spend AP on) is available to invest in. In addition to being cordoned off to, like, 1% (?) of the total land of the game, the demo has a number of other little caps: ![]() ![]() It's a pretty open demo in that you can putter around the starting area for a good long time, but I pretty much exhausted it after about 12-16 hours of play, poking around all the nooks and crannies of the starting area. ![]()
